What is BOF Technology

BOF stands for Basic Oxygen Furnace Technology. BOF technology is a modern steelmaking process in which both molten pig iron and inhouse generated scrape such as billet end cutting, head and tail cutting, misroll etc are converted into steel with the action of oxygen blown into the melt under a basic slag. It is, at present, the most powerful and effective steel-making method. BOF technology has been adopted by Rashmi Group to make the TMT bars, which reflects in the strength and quality of Rashmi BOF Controlled Carbon TMT bars.
